Merlin’s Walk Shopping Centre stands proud in a community which lays claim to being the oldest and once largest town in Wales.
Designed to reflect the town’s character and its historic roots, Merlin’s Walk retains a well-established reputation as a great value centre with over 20 stores offering a wide variety of merchandise including fashion, books, greetings cards, games and homewares.
The centre is a major shopping experience with top high street stores and whether you want to book a holiday, stock up on vitamins and herbal supplements or check out the latest fashions, there’s something for all the family at Merlin’s Walk.
Metal archways lead shoppers into the mall where an 11 ft statue of Merlin the Wizard, carved by local woodcarver Simon Hedger, stands as the centrepiece. Legend has it that Merlin was born on the site of Carmarthen’s old town, hence the present-day annual Merlin Festival celebrations.
Ideally situated on one level with the bus station below, Merlin’s Walk is easily accessible by lift and escalator and most shops are open on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The council-run Friars Park car park is also adjacent to the Centre.
