FREE wi-fi in Merlin's Walk
Visitors to Merlin’s Walk shopping centre can now engage in some serious surfing on the net, all for free.
All areas of the shopping centre are WiFi enabled so people can take advantage of the free service and surf the internet while they shop.
John Nash, Merlin’s Walk centre manager said the installation was just one of many initiatives this year aimed at giving shoppers a better experience.
“After redecoration of the mall and refurbishment of the public toilets we installed a Sky information and sales point next to Travel House and followed this up with improved facilities for local businesses and national companies to promote their goods and services on the mall. Now we are providing free WiFi.
“At a time when there are so many ways for people to shop we wanted to ensure Merlin’s Walk stays in touch with the mobile age. Wherever you are on Merlin’s Walk you can connect to the internet for free via laptop, tablet or phone.
“Customers can visit their favourite stores on-line, read product reviews and socialise while in the shopping centre as well as check out what events are coming up through our website www.merlinswalk.com where there are links to our Facebook and Twitter sites,” said Mr Nash.
The installation has been set up in partnership with The Cloud.

Facelift for TK Maxx
Work has started on refurbishing the TK Maxx store in Merlin’s Walk shopping centre.
John Nash, Merlin’s Walk centre manager said: “It is intended that work is carried out between 6pm in the evening and 7am in the morning so there shouldn’t be any inconvenience to shoppers.
“TK Maxx was our first tenant when the shopping centre opened 15 years ago and we’re delighted the company is investing in the store and showing its commitment to Merlin’s Walk and Carmarthen.
“Areas of the store will be sectioned off as work progress to refit the interior and move tills upstairs and lay new flooring as well as new changing room facilities.”
The refit is expected to be complete in time for the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of the month.
